Oh no, I have a water leak.
1995 E320
I am afraid that it could be the head gasket, but I think it might "just" be something to do with the water pump. From what I have read, the head gasket usually leaks at the back of the motor and my leak seems to be up around the water pump. I can’t see exactly where the water starts to come out, but it looks like it might be starting where the water pump is bolted to the motor. Is the water pump a common place to loose fluid? Do you think my pump is bad, or do you think I might just need to get a new gasket where it is mounted? Everything is going to be OK, isn't it? I love my car.

Waht is the mileage on your car and has the water pump ever been replaced before? Actually, have you ever changed any other cooling related parts before? My radiator, water pump, thermostat, nipple plug on top of rad and some hoses have been replaced already.

So far, so good. I love my car.
I have 86K miles on my 1995 E320 and I have not had any other maintenance problems, except the expansion valve in the AC system. So far, I have not had problems with the head gasket, wiring harness, or the evaporator. I did struggle a bit getting everything straightened out after I added the Eibach lowering springs, Bilstein HD shocks, and the K-MAC bushings, but I have not had problems that I can attribute to the OEM products. The aftermarket products I purchased are good, but they did require some fine-tuning to get the set-up “tuned” to my liking. Oh yes, I did have to replace the oxygen sensor.
I have had my car serviced at the dealer, except for the addition of the aftermarket suspension products. I have owned the car for 8 years and I am planning to keep it for the rest of my life. I am only 49-years-old, so I hope that is a very long time. I love my car.
