Hi all!
Just replaced these items on the 86 300E - what a difference!
I was advised by the dealer to do the fr. flex disk on my 89 te as well - I was wondering if the trans mount should be routinely replaced when this service is performed anyway?

Also - thanks to Partsshop for the recent quotes - they are considerably better than what I paid for those items, even given our lousy C$ exchange. I will buy the TE's stuff from you, for sure!

Thanks,
Nick

Nick got a question. What were the symptoms of your car that prompted you to change the flex disks and or trans mounts?

My Car has an issue where under braking the shift knob rocks back and forth, I was thinking this could be related to mounts and or the flex disks.

Thanks,

Alon

I just replace my flex disc about a week ago. Some of the symptoms were that there was a very bad jerk in the car when coming to a stop and accelaerating. So I went under the car and found out that the front flex disc is really worn out. It was so worn out that the diveshaft was very loose. I think the job of the flex disc is to smooth out the ride and keep the driveshaft in place. I replace it in about two to three hours and it made a big difference. the trans mount was okay in my car no need to replace it. Happy Holidays everyone.

Hi Alon,
Sorry for the late reply... enjoying the holidays away from home!
87300E's description of the worn flex disk is right.
Re the trans mount - I had very (ie VERY) harsh shifts, accompanied by a distinct clunk. The new mount cured it.
Season's greetings to all,
-Nick
