Reverse Lights & Rear Wiper Intermittent

1995 E320 Wagon

Is there a micro switch that activates the reverse lights AND the rear hatch wiper when engaging reverse? more often than not the reverse lights don't activate and when the windshield wiper is on the rear wiper is supposed to activate, and it does not. Every once in a while when I wiggle the shift lever they activate. where is this switch? Fastlane doesn't seem to have it, but then again maybe I was searching the wrong name.

ON the drivers side of the trans, there is a neutral/safety switch thay also controls the back-up lights.

That would be my starting point.

oh okay, so the NSS is the only guy that controls those lights and rear-wiper function? Thats pretty weird because the NSS was put in new about 10K miles ago and has been functioning perfectly. It would seem rather unlikely that it would die so soon, but I guess not out of the realm of possibility - even though there are no problems selecting reverse?

I was hoping there was a micro switch somewhere that could be dead.
