I'm not familiar with your transmission, but generally there is a vacuum hose running to the modulator, at least there is on newer models. If you can find a vac hose attaching the tranny somewhere, that would likely be the modulator. Also check for vac leaks, often the source for hard shifts.

I can't see any vacuum hose from the engines to the transmission?
Can this car have a non vacuum modulator? Or ? ![]() W 107 350 SL 1971 W 210 240 E 1999 |

Thank you BusyBenz.
I have the Haynes repair manual (63030) (698) for 350SL & 450SL 1971 thru 1980. But I cant find any of the modulator pressure adjust. The manual refer to the vacuum modulator line, but no pictures , drawing og other info. The manual are for 3 speed trans. I have a 4 speed. Regards Arvid http://www.chevroletnorge.com |

The modulator is located on the rear passenger side, by the transmission tail. If it’s the original modulator it will have a steel vacuum line with a banjo fitting.
