W123 ACC Woes
I have an issue with the ACC on my 1985 300TD Wagon. When outside temeratures are 95F+ the ACC will occasionally not engage after start up. No blower, no A/C, no Heat, NADA, ZILCH, dead in the water. I have to restart the car and re-engage the ACC and all works. Cold A/C, strong blower, everything is happy, happy, happy. Any thoughts???

Hi Paul , it could be a problem in the control unit. The units develop cold solder problems and can sometimes be repaired by re-soldering the board. Are all the other functions on the control unit normal?

Everything on the panel works great. Just the unit is dead perhaps 5% of the time in the heat.

It could very well be the ignition switch. After starting the car and the a/c won't work, try turning the ignition switch slightly counter clockwise.
Good luck, |
