If you open the fuse box under the hood..under the relays and fuses sits a strange wire that holds a glass fuse..when we put a 20 amp fuse it it and start the car the fuse breaks ..so took out the fuse and everything seems to work I was wondering if anyone else had a fuse like that..cant find anything on the CD about it..the previous owner may have owned a car phone??

Sounds very aftermarket to me.

I have opened several fuse boxes and added a lot of (benz original and after market) cables...a "floating" fuse underneath the fuses in the fuse box is definitely after market. Take a look at the other end of the cable (which goes into the fuse box) and disconnect it. When the fuse breaks whilst starting the car it is already shorted and of NO GOOD.
what type of car, what color coded cable? greetingz, |
the car is a 1982 380 SEC the wire is an inline fuse and is grounded on the botton of the sunroof fuse..dont know what it connects to on the other end..the car runs fine and doesnt seen to need this wire..cant find the other end of that wire
