1980 410D (408?) 2299cc diesal, 165,000 miles
Hi everyone
I am new here. I'm thinking about buying an ex-minibus merc from Ebay which has always been used daily and regularly serviced, with a view to using it for a camper conversion. Its a 410 diesel 2299cc, 15 years old. (also told it's called a 408D, confused, can it have two numbers, 409 and 410?). I have been told that this is a low compression engine that's designed to go on forever. Are these one of the better Merc engines, it's done 165,000 miles, wonder what more I could expect out of it? Any opinions would be greatly appreciated ![]() |
