ACC Blower wiring question, 95 (S-420)
When changing my cabin/pollen filter I noticed that there is a small connector about 3 inches back from the regulator, on top of the blower motor, which has nothing plugged into it. What is this connector for? I thought perhaps it might be for a thermister which some previous air cond. tech may have forgot to reinstall since my blower speed sometimes does not "follow" the temp wheels up= (slower) or down= (faster blower). Or is this perhaps part of the wiring for the charcoal filter system which my car does not have. I had read that there is a switch on dash to activate the charcoal filter section? Does anyone know?
I cleaned the base of the regulator and the alum. housing it mounts on and applied "artic silver" -- supposed to be the best heat dissipating grease for CPU to heatsink. Hey heat dissipation is heat dissipation in an auto or computer. It does seem to follow the temp wheels up or down some better now with the new filter and grease, but not always---especially when the unit has been sitting a few minutes in a hot summer day parking lot and you wish you could get max cool to knock down that 115 degree inside air. Mine may take 6 blocks before the high fan will come on and get the car cool. Any ideas?
