Mercedes W126 Model Turn Signals

I Get The Lamp Indicator Light On The Dash When I Put On The Right Turn Signal...the Right Turn Rear And Front Signals Still Blink...but They Blink Fast.....i Had The Right Rear Buld Replaced And It Worked Normal...then After A Week It Did It Again...i Checked All The Outside Blinkers And Tail Lights And Brake Lights....they All Appear To Work Fine, Just The Right Turn Blinks Fast And Everytime You Push The Turn Indicator Lever Up For A Right Signal, The Warning Light On The Dash Lights Up......ideas..?

just a guess but its probably an issue in the switch itself...shorting something...or a contact problem...someone more knowledgable will be of greater service than I will be...on some American cars I've owned the alternator could cause issues like this as well in conjunction with various other problems...usually its in the stalk...best of luck

MBs with the bulb warning feature are sensitive to replacement bulbs. If you get replacement bulbs off the rack at an auto parts store chances are the wattage tolerance is more than the warning system will accept. Get replacement bulbs from FastLane or a dealer. If you're adventurous, get them off an MB at a wrecking yard.

say you checked the lights in front and back? if one is out it would flash very fast. i think.

yes...this is what i dont understand...if one bulb is out...how can it still flash..?..the front and back turn signals both blink fast but they blink...if one was burned out, it could not blink..so..i am leaning toward the answer concerning the warning system being freaked out by something..thanks for your answer

What was the original market for your car? Some cars have to come with the little blinkers on the fender.

The turn signal cycle time depends on current flowing through the relay. With less load is cycles quickly, with more load it cycles slowly. That's how MB does it. My 73 Dodge would keep the good signal bulbs on steadily when a bulb was out.
