Water from under glovebox
I searched the archives and haven't been able to find a solution for my water problem.
I am having large quantities of H2O enter the cabin of my '84 300D turbo after starting the engine following a rain. I checked the drain under the hood spring as well as the any holes in the firewall. All looked AOK. It appears as though the water is collecting somewhere. I suspect it is the circular device under the glovebox that has something to do with my cabin heater. I noticed that a couple of screws were loose, so I tightened them. I thought the problem was solved when it survived one storm, but now it's back to where it was before. I am also having a major condensation problem that my defogger has a hell of a time trying to fight during rain storms. My AC doesn't work. I'm pretty sure all of these are connected. My questions are: - What is this device? - Should it have water in it? - How do I fix the leak? - Are these problems connected? |
