evaporator coil

Please help, I was just told that I need a new evaporator coil for my 1995 S420 .I want to do the repair my self if I can find some pictures or info to go by . Thanks for any help you can give me.

This is a big job. The rated time by MB is over 20 hours of labor. Don't think the parts are bad, but the time involved really drives the price up.
I'd recommend you get a service sheet/manual to go by. If you can't find anything locally, www.alldata.com is a good choice. Haven't done this repair on my car, but have read the entire procedure on ALLDATA site, and its very complete and thorough. Price for a year's subscription isn't bad either.
Short version is that the entire dash has to be removed along with most of the console. Did I mention this is a big job?
If you do attempt this, please take pictures along the way and post them. Let us know how it goes.

How ambitious are you? People have reported it's all nuts and bolts, but it is a big job. Ditto on all the advice above, especially using a camera. The camera has helped me tremendously in the past and is now part of my toolbox.
