95 S420 LCD Bulb / Infrared Remote

My "new to me" 95 S420 has an intermittent bulb on the left climate control LCD display / temperature wheel.

I searched the archives and found that there are two versions of the climate control panel. The Bosch has replaceable bulbs and the other doesn't.

So, how can you determine which you have? How do you gain access to the bulb on a Bosch unit?

Second question. One of the Infrared remotes doesn't work. Even after a battery change. Can you buy just the remote housing? Looks like the 'key' is held on with a roll pin.
