89 300E. TVS & TPS what's the difference
Sorry if this is a dumb question.
Throttle valve switch TVS and Throttle position sensor TPS. Are they one and the same.? If not, what's the difference, and where is the TVS located. I'm trying to get rid of the dreaded idle surge, and one, or both, may just be the culprit. Educate me please... |

Some times they can be the same! ON your car there is a throttle valve switch on the throttle body that is (should be) on (closed position) when the car is at idle. IT informs the ECU that the engine are at rest.
Can be tested with OHM meter. ON the side of the air flow housing there is an "air flow position sensor". THAT sensor can cause idle problems!
