Air Pump

I have the M104 engine and I was trying to temporary remove the air pump to rebuild it but the belt I got from the dealer (2257mm) is too short and the original one (2415mm) is too long. Does anybody knows the exact lenth ?

Might be cheaper to get a junkyard air pump to use temporarily.

A belt cost $18 but an $25 dollars used air pump from Junk yard may be bad so it can seize and create more damages.

There was a VIN split at engine # 48696 - but 2415 is the shorter one, 2475 the longer, so something is fishy.

but my junkyard oil cooler could have been bad, and i would have been out $40 on the cooler, and my engine would have been flushed down the toilet. its possible that a junkyard pump *could* be bad, but i've never got a bad part from a junkyard, except for the first oil cooler, that the one fitting was stripped, and the other broke off , atleast it was only $10 the first time, but the stakes went up the second time (hopefully the last) because i needed to get the car out of the lot, and i couldnt do that with a stream on oil , but its fixed now, all thats left is the damage from the wreck!!!
