door handle adjustment 116

After 2 weeks of yanking the door handles to open the doors I took them apart and to my amazement they have a adjustable pin that actuates the opening mech. Use a allen key to remove the handle and adjust the red pin with a flat screwdriver. I have been wrenching on american cars for decades Do you think we could ever think of a simple bullitproof idea like that??? The more I work on my 25 year old mercedes the more I hate my chevys. heheh

Yes, Mercedes used to be amazingly well built cars before Chrysler influence. You normally don't need to adjust those handles once they are set up. You might find door opening easier if you apply a little silicone grease to the striker pin in the latch.
