Eurolight info needed

I need a new set of lights for my 92 300 TE4. The lenses are both cracked from rocks etc

I want to do the complete changeover form the US spec to the ( I believe) 100 watt euro bulbs, the vacuum adjustable levelers, the correct wiper and trim panels

I know I will need wiring relays wipers dash panels etc.

Could whoever has done this on a W124 please let me know:

-What parts are needed for a complete change
-Where to source all the parts?
-Some help on install questions

Thanks
Jim Cross

I would HIGHLY recommend that you not use 100Watt bulbs. The added heat will fry your expensive headlight assemblies. Do the conversion to Euro lights with standard bulbs FIRST. Most of the light strength has to do with reflector effectiveness, NOT bulb power. The Euro lights are a DRAMATIC improvement from the super lousy US spec lights. I expect that you will be satisfied with Euros and standard bulbs. I drive about 20 miles of winding, hilly farm road just to get to the highway with lots of deer and escaped livestock on the roads. The Euros and standard bulbs work fabulous. You'll think that you have a couple of locomotives running next to you.

As far as conversion information you will need the Light units themselves, the rotary dial dash control and escutcheon plate. If you have wipers, I put a detailed post here about three years ago giving precise directions on how to convert your existing wipers for use with the Euro lights. A search should come up with it.

Good luck,

Contrary to Larry's caution on the 100's , I have run them for now going on 200K miles in the Bosch Fixtures, with heavy wiring and relays. Absolutely no heat or melting problems.

I would recommend 80/100's versus the 55/65's. Buy the Osram or Narda bulbs. www.DanielSternLighting.com has them and the various electrical goodies.
The vacuum switch and panel came from Randy Steele at www.epsparts.com
Unsure of that website.
