Leaking '89 190D Inj. Pump
Hey folks, I have an 89 190D 2.5 Diesel injection pump leak. It appears to be coming from under the barrels that screw into the top of the pump and where the injector lines screw on. On my old 220D I had the same problem and was an easy fix...old age, shrunken o-rings=replacement time. 1) Are there O rings under the barrels? 2) can they be removed with the pump on the engine? 3) Has anyone ever done it on this engine? Anything to look out for? Thanks mucho! Clip....BTW any idea on where to get the special socket to remove the barrels? Look like about 30 fine splines or so.........

Your delivery valves are leaking. I'd recommend having a qualified shop do this repair. If you're not careful you can cause more problems than you fix.

Being careful is the.......
most important part of auto repair......Judicious application of the manual and a healthy dose of someone else'e practical experience should do the trick. Should I think this job to be any different than any other type of repair? Just curious.......all input encouraged......Clip

Check this page, it's for 2.5L turbo diesel. May be applicable to your 190D 2.5:
