2000 E320 Visors

The mirror doors on my 2000 E320 Wagon's visors are missing. Relacement visors on ebay claim that 1998 visors are 2000 compatible, but they don't look the same (my visors don't have lights, they're on the headiner). Thoughts?

I'd replace with whatever I could.I have a S Class and the plastic arm broke which holds the visor.I made new arm, with copper tubing,as these newer vehicles lack the construction of the older cars.

While the visors can be physically swapped, you'll lose the light functionality. That was a facelift change.

Keep looking. Check out car-part.com (clearing house for salvage yards) and call if they have a facelift in your interior color.

And just my humble opinion, but you can't always trust sellers on ebay to tell you the truth about what fits and works. If ever.

Good luck.

The 2000 to 2002 E class visors are different in physical size. They will bolt down with the same foot print. They are longer, and the cloth material is different. I tried it a few months ago. I can live with the material being different, but they just do not fit...

Look for some at the self serve junk yards or Flea Bay.

The mirror assembly is available separately under part no. 2108102510----. You will need your VIN to get the 4 digit suffix for your specific interior code. For instance, the suffix 7D84 is for Orion Grey mirror assemblies. The part lists for $42.50 and pops out from the bottom. I have replaced a number of these without incident. The light switch (2118700510) is also available and lists for $4.90 each. Mark

Get some new ones rather than used. The plastic gets brittle with heat and UV so you might as well start from scratch. When I removed the old "frames" with the mirror glass, they just crumbled.

If the switch in the visor fails to turn on the light, remove it and spray it with electrical contact cleaner before buying a new one. Worked like a charm for me!
