Question Which car is more powerful, 560SEL or 450SEL 6.9?

I didn't drive the 450SEL 6.9 but what I know that it's so powerful, do u think that it's more powerful than the 560SEL?

And what about the 450SEL 6.9 acceleration?

according

to the mercedes buyers guide from 1994 the 560 sel is 7.4 to 60 and the 6.9 is 8 sec. both have top speed of 140.

these are presumed to be us versions.

i suspect the euro version of the 6.9 would be considerably quicker. and the euro version of the 560 i would suspect is also quicker than the us version but perhaps less so than the 6.9. so it wouldnt surprise me if the euro 6.9 is quicker than the euro 560.

just my thoughts

the same book

lists torque for the us 6.9 as 360. weight 4300, axle 2.65, three speed automatic, no hp listed. again 0 to 60: 8 sec. top end 140.

the 560 shows 238 hp (us) 287 torque, 2.47 rear end, four speed automatic, 0 to 60: 7.4, weight 4125, top end 140.

so even though the 6.9 has a lot more torque, with more weight and less gears to work with is a bit slower to 60 with the same top end.

i have never driven either, but would enjoy the opportunity to do both.

my 500sec is pretty satisfying to drive and it has only 185 hp and 247 torque.

best i suspect would be a euro 6.9. a euro 5.6 would i am sure be very nice too. i have driven a euro 500sel. it was noticably quicker than my sec even though the sel weighs 200 # more and has a 224 rear end instead of 247.

I own a 6.9, have driven a couple of 560SEL's. Girlfriend had E430 which was light years ahead in comfort. No contest, 6.9 is the king, more fun to drive. And if you like cars that get 12 MPG, even better!

They are both about as powerful as a new Toyoto Corolla - which to me makes it seem like a fairly unimportant question.
