2002 C230 transmission problem

car was towed with front wheels on tow dolly for 300miles. now car has grinding sound in 1st. gear. what in the transmission needs to be replaced? car has 20,000 miles and the trans. is the 722.6

MB suggests that any MB car equipped with auto trans be towed on rear wheel for less than 30 miles at 30MPH or less!

You will need a replacement trans!

The noise is fried planetary, due to lack of lube oil

That's a lot of towing to do with stuff in the transmission spinning around with no lubrication. In the future, flatbed it if it needs to be towed.

planatery gears explode

the planatery gears on the input shaft look like a bomb exploded under them. destroyed every thing in front of the transmission. i will never use a 2 wheeled dolly again.

hello,
i have a 2003 mercedes c with automatic transmission 722.69 .I have a jerky shifting from 1st to 2nd gear especially when the throtle is smooth.If i accelarate , no problem.
I have changed the fluid the filter and i went to the dealer who did not find any codes or a problem.Do you have any idea? Thank you for your time and sorry for my english but i am from Greece.

They all jerk from 1-2 when cold. What's the maint history on the trans?
