Timing Chain 300 TE 4-Matic

Just had a complete head rebuild from a local garage. Twenty-two miles out of the shop, the timing chain broke, the usual: putting a hole in the cover, etc. I asked if they inspected the timing chain right after the car was towed in and the mechanic got a little hinky. This evening stopped by and was told the tensioners were bent the studs coming from the block. One to the left and the R side, broken in half taking a little corner of the "finger" that comes from the block...I'm trying to describe what I saw. Questions are: What can be done to cement or weld the piece back to the block, would it be successful, and do I have any recourse against the shop for not checking the tolernces on the chain. Thanks.

Jim
