will dash from 300ce fit a 300e?

I want to swap a pristine dash (the top part, which is all black) from a 1988 300ce parts car for the cracked dash on my 87 300e. Before I spend a few hours disassembling the coupe front end, I thought I should ask if anyone knows if the two dashes are interchangeable, or have the same part number? Thanks.

Thanks Ray. I am removing the dash based on instructions in my Haynes manual. However, in order to have the easiest possible removal of what I imagine is a fragile part, I also would like to see how MB says it should be removed. Ray, I was wondering if you have the MB instructions on how to remove the dash? Thanks.

The MB manual for this is at Braingears here:

Thanks so much for your quick reply. I printed the MB instructions, and they compliment nicely what Haynes has to say. FYI, Haynes first recommends removing lower fascia, which I thought might be unnecessary. Replacing the dash will make a huge improvement on the 87 300e. This forum is an absolutely unbelievable resource. Again, many thanks & happy new year to all.
