I thought if the accumulators were bad the rear end would bounce... my car is stiff and does not bounce over tracks, etc. Rear struts are not leaking but I can't find if I have ever had them replaced in the last 14 years. Should I go ahead and have new accumulators installed and see what happens? Thank you for your time and input

A stiff tail could be due to dead accumulators. When folks talk about the tailend being bouncy, they mean there is no absorption of the shock and the tail end bounces. Might even be described as a harsh ride.

I would replace the accumulators they are gas canisters with a membrane between them that over time the oil seeps through the membrane or is the gas out either way they end upfull of oil, making them useless as absorbers of shock. It is not a hard diy job just a little messy.

The 560 has hydraulic shocks with accumulators within the hydraulic system. Replace accumulators but make sure to bleed the hydraulics. Gas remaining in the system can still make the rear end bouncy.
