OBDII 16pin and/or 36 Pin socket in engine bay?
I’m new to the 2001 CLK and I was wondering if the 2001 CLK320 has an interior OBDII 16pin socket in the car.
I have an AST code reader with the MB 36 pin socket connector that I use in the engine bay to read and reset codes on the 2001 CLK320, but I believe the OBDII standard for US-markets states there must be a port within 3 feet of the driver, inside the cabin and needs to be accessible without any special tools. I’ve been using the engine bay 36 pin socket/port. I haven’t spent a lot of time looking under the dash but I would seem odd to have both. Is this correct? If so, does the car have both the engine bay 36pin MB port and the interior ODBII standard 16 pin port? Thanks,

All 208 chassis cars have both a thirty EIGHT pin connector and a 16 pin connector.
All MBs have 16pin connectors from 1996 on atleast, some started a little earlier, specifically the 202 car.
