inexpensive code reader

I have been reading the my year 1992 does not have ditial code retreaval but analoge. One of the post I read this week was advertising an inexpensive code reader that hooks up to 1992 W124. 300-E M103 983 engine bay.

Does anyone have an opinion for the weekend DIY people?

Thank You I have been learning much from all the people on this site.

Are you talking about engine management codes or SRS/CCU/ABS codes?

Engine management codes are read from pin 3 on the ignition control module on the drivers side fender well with a duty cycle meter. The other codes are read with an LED at the diagnostic connector near the battery.

Do a search and there are many good threads about both.

Good luck,

Arthur, Could you elaborate how to use this tool. Where it's plugged in and how to obtain and read the code.

Thanx in advance:)
