230 newbie

I recently purchased an '03 C230 sports coupe. Great little car, but...now its time for an oil change. I have the filter, I have the oil, but can someone tell me how I drain it and where I can find the oil filter? I assumed it would be a similar procedure to an american car, but I see now I was mistaken. Any info on this little 1.8L would be appreciated.

I think this is a great opportunity to try out the search feature on this site. It is pretty good. Just type in "C230 oil change". I know the information you will find is better than anything I can type!! You will find many people recommend tha "topsider" that sucks the oil out from the dipstick tube. I am of the "drain plug" camp. I think either way works very well. Just personal preference. Check out the search and report back with any questions.

The oil filter on a 271 engine is on the driver side rear of the engine. 27mm wrench will be needed to get the cap off. Drain plug is on the driver side rear of engine also, 13mm. 271 engines in a 203.740 hold 5.8qt's
