having trouble taking off a steering damper bolts on a '87n 560 SEL. Also, I tried jacking up the middle muffler for a install of a exhaust hanger but, I wound up breking the new exhaust hanger. Is there a trick to this? It is the same car. Thanks.

The bolts on your steering damper are likely rusty and seized. You will have to soak them in liquid wrench or something like that and then give it a try. It is not unusual for this to happen. When you say exhaust hangers do you mean the rubber things? YOu have to carefully stretch them, I've never heard of one breaking, it should be straightforward.
