'83 300TD rear brake calipers
Does anyone know what is different between the rear calipers on the 123 wagons and the other 123's/ early 126's? The rotors and pads are the same, and they bolt right on.
Not being able to physically compare the two at the moment, my only guess is the size of the pistons. I'm considering temporally (until I get rich) using a set of these on my wagon...why not? I'm thinking all I'll see is a slight proportioning difference then OEM...a little faster wear on the fronts. Anyone have any experience with this situation? Richard |
you guessed right
the pistons on a wagon are slightly larger in diameter. due to more weight on the rear.
if you put sedan calipers on the difference might not be very noticable. it would make the fronts a little more prone to locking i suspect. tom w |
