W126 bosch euro headlight dissassembly-repair questions

i did the search and could not find any answers.

i recieved a pair of used w126 bosch euro headlights with vacumm adjustments from a veteran mercedesshop forum member. upon reciept, i heard rattleling and looseness. removel glass lenses, on the passenger light, the plastic socket that holds the vacumm ball pin has one tab broken off (i did find it rolling around inside), this holds the vacumm ball pin against the movable reflecter housing and affects adjustment. to get at it, to try to re-glue or rig it, i need to remove the chrome reflector, then i need to remove the gray plastic housing that the reflecter mounts on to along with the connections to the adjusters. i will look for a part number for the gray plastic housing, (the chrome reflector does have a part number on the back) or try to reglue broken tab or drill and run a wire through to hold it.

does anyone know how to remove the chrome reflector, gray moveable reflector mount from adjusters and vacuum pod? should i even try this?

another problem, both gray plastic bezel frames are broken one in 3- pieces. the other once, part nos 1 305 542 085 L, 1 305 542 086 R. (i emailed phil, waiting to hear back, may try MB dealer) i tried many glues and epoxies and nothing holds.

the lenses and the rest of the lights are in good shape so i want ot fix this if possible, otherwise i may be looking for another passenger side W126 bosch euro light. (i will still need the above bezel for the drivers side)

anyone have any of the above W126 bosch euro headlight parts?

ups ground is not a good thing! they probably dropped numerous times, they were packaged in bubble wrap, styrofoam cooler boxes, peanuts and another box each! i knew we should have done air mail for less handling.

thanks for the help, this is getting frustrating and expensive!

i could take pics if needed.

disassembly is doable. not so sure about the rigging of the broken part, though. I have a bad euro reflector bowl on the right side. Do you have that part # by chance? It is Bosch I assume? I have already put mine back together. Removal of the bulb holder inside the reflector is tricky until you see how to do it. You need to push in hard and turn, and it will pop out of its track. All the rest comes apart Ok. If you are bold enough to try it you are probably mechanically-inclined enough to put it back together.
