Fuel Pump Kill switch

Egnat,

I used to have a Steeda 5.0 Liter Convt.Mustang that I didnt want my sister driving. Fords already have a safety switch in the back (automatic switch) that cuts off the fuel pump incase of a rear end collision. I turned it into a manual switch in the trunk. If you simply put a switch inline with the power lead to the fuel pump, I'm sure the wife would never figure it out. Also it would keep your factory alarm on and computer codes from reseting.

just my two cents

Jason M.

Battery with a remote.

Roas had the right idea. Sears sells a battery with a remote and maybe some other companies. Mine works fine. A little theft protection and it will keep the memory.

David,
Thanks, but I recently had to recharge the battery since it ran down from lack of use. The battery is less than 2 years old and is the correct MBZ part with 850CCA. It took a good charge, but I don't want it to run down again. I had no problem resetting the radio and clock, and the steering reset itself when I turned the wheel from lock to lock. I'd still like some advice about the chargers or battery switch sold by PAD, if anyone can help.
Stuart

Memory Savor

After reading all of the posts to solve your problem and finding no real answer; makes me thinks my Little Memory Savor I made for just such problem as yuz guys has.
From Radio Shack, 1 9volt battery connector with lead wires ( one red and one black) aint that purty? 1 cigarette light plug.
Solder the leads keeping the polarity correct. Use shrink wrap for a real neat job.
With a nine volt battery in place and the gadget plugged into the light socket.
Disconnect the battery cable.
Turn the ignition switch to accessory position.
The gadget will hold all memories as original until the battery is exhausted or you return to normal condition.
I've had my Donald's El Cheapo for many many years and haven't had a memory loss yet.
Happy Trails Beep Beep from Houston!!!
Donald, El Cheapo
