blower motor for module box '94 E420

Howdy!

As some of you might recall, I got a few codes from my E420. (Thanks, Arthur and Jim).
Jim pointed out to me that one of the codes read, was that the temperature in the module box was too high, and suggested that maybe the blower motor for it was not working. (I had no idea it had a blower/cooling fan to begin with)

I finally had the time and light to hunt for the fan, and easily found it.
I pulled the connector apart, and checked for voltage - Nothing.

So...next question is: Does this fan run all the time, or is it thermostatically controlled?

If I "hotwire" it, would I be able to feel/hear it running? Do I need to take off the module box lid and feel for a little draft/suction?

Thanks for any insight!

-Larry

Larry,
The power comes from the BASE module whenever it senses OVERHEATING..

Does the motor run if you put power to it???

Not really important...MB suggests that might be an erroneous code.
