Wiring Harness ID

I could use some help to identify the age of the engine wiring harness on my 93 300E with the 2.8 204 engine. I am trying rule out some items in helping me diagnose a engine fuel cut off, occasionally stalling, but always restarting and continues to run. If you feather the gas when it cuts out it will "re catch" and take off again. I understand that this could perhaps be the throttle actuator or even the wiring harness. The coils, plugs, and new spark plug wires were installed three weeks ago, as well as a new valve cover gasket. The complaint at that time was that the car was surging and it has run well all the way back from Florida and just started this cutting out.

As I examined the cable and read many search threads on the subject, I found the part number on the cable. My cable is made by Delphi, MB number 124 440 5632. The dates are Z.D. 11.03.93 and F.D. 10.05.00. The manufacturer date of my car from the door jam plate is 12/92. Can you tell if this cable has been replaced? It appears to be in excellent shape but the car only has 53000 miles on it. The cable behind the oil filter is junk and looks like the many pictures on this forum of the famous disappearing insulation, so I know what a bad condition looks like. Is the only to inspect the wires on the TA is to split the cable?

The next concern is on reading fault codes. Mine does not appear to have the built in LED to pull codes. Did some 93-95 models have the LED and others not? I hope you can help.

Thanks,

Bill
