My 190e 2.6 will run hot with a/c on and my two fans won't start. I hooked both fans to power source and they run fine but won't start when necessary. I have read threads saying where relays are located but not on a 190e. Also, I have failed to locate relays under fuse box located on drivers side under the hood. Help!!!!!

I have the same problem and i found out that the resitor is bad. I think you need to replaced fuse D to 25A.

Thanks Dan, but which resistor is bad and where is it located on the 190e 2.6? Also, where is fuse D, in fuse box or elsewhere?

Hi 190E2,
I had the similar problem you have on my 88'300E. But for your problem there are two posibilities: 1. The thermoswitch, which is located on the cylinder head. At that time if I remove the socket to the thermoswitch the fan run at high speed. So my conclusion is thermoswitch is good. 2. The resistor located on top of the front tyre mound inside the trunk. Possibly on the left hand side. (Mine is a right hand drive car). It is a rectangle thing made out of ceramics with two cables on either end. To check try put a jumper between the two cable, if the fan run, then you should change the resistor. Hope it will helps you. Bye |

It is behind the drivers headlight on the exposed portion of the frame rail on the LHD vehicle.
