113 Motor. P1453 and P0410 help needed
vehicle is 2000 G500 (same motor as the 1999-2000 SL500)
Eng # 113962 Have been monitoring P1453 and P0410 for about a year now. Reseating the Air Pump electical connection 'seems' to correct. No noticeable corrosion at the connection. Mitchell's sez K40 relay and/or airpump. What is the most likely culprit? Any quick checks (voltage at the leads going into the airpump? If it's the airpump, new or rebuilt air pump? Are there rebuild kits?

If reseating the connectors really does help....You might try a product that VW endorses for enhansing electrical contacts.
STABILANT22A. http://www.stabilant.com/tech04h.htm This cures many low amp/voltage resistence problems with late ECU's. BTW..It's about $68.00 a 15ml bottle. I'm on my second bottle after 15 month in workshop use. .

Thanks for the electrical connector 'stuff' idea.
I cleared the CEL light using the ODBII. Now if someone can tell me what the K40 relay looks like and how to test it and or the air pump that would be appreciated. Cheers all.
