W124 300ce Interior Color Name
I am currently building some custom fiberglass speaker enclosures on my doors where the map baskets go. I want them to look factory, so I'm trying to find OEM vinyl to match my interior (door panels).
My interior color code is 265, my exterior color code is 702 (smoke silver). I am having a hell of a time tracking down the vinyl name for code 265. The dealer is even confused because the database only lists the number (not the actual name). For the door panels, he says the system has some kind of code that comes up as "AE80". I'm not sure what that means... I have searched long and far and have come up with two possibilities based on what people have said in the forums. Unfortunately, the colors look somewhat similar, but they you apparently can tell the difference when you hold them up next to eachother: Mushroom Cream Beige Not sure which one it is... Does anybody know of a resource I can use? Thanks! |

Mushroom and creme beige seem to be interchangeable. This is what happens when you let marketing people get involved in these things. In any case you need to contact Bill Hirsch Automotive in Newark, NJ and ask for color samples of MB tex. They will send you swatches and you can just match them up.

Hmm, this is really weird. I thought my interior is MB Tex because it really doesn't feel like leather. But when I ran the VIN decoder linked above for my VIN (WDBEA51DXLB192939), it said it's mushroom leather. Either way, I know it's called mushroom now!
Thanks so much for your help guys. I really appreciate it. |

Its pretty easy to tell MB Tex from Leather by the pattern/stiching:
MB Text - Pic #1 (many strips running parrallel to your legs/back) Leather - Pic #2 (divided rectangle sections)
