Unhappy HELP! Overheating!!!

Yesterday my car started over heating and I saw some white smoke coming from beneath the car from the middle. When I opened the hood there was no sign of smoke but I could see the smoke coming from beneath. The smoke location seemed to be the middle. Can anyone tell me what's going on? The Raidator is full and there is a small leak in the head gasket but i change my oil every 2000 miles and make sure that it never goes under loses more than 1 quart of oil. Any suggestions? The temprature needle was lingering between 100 and 120 but when i started driving it lowered to 90.

smoke or steam? smoke will linger and eventually blow away. steam dissapates quickly. vaporizes.

you need to find the source before we can help much.

the high temp is undoubtalbly related.

Yes - also knowing the year and model of the car may be a tremendous help as well. I am not saying this to be rude or mean, but I do not know why people do not list this (model and year of car) when they ask a question like this, or at least put what model/year of car it is in their profiles. Cars are different. Steam from one area of one car, may mean something totally different on another.

Hopefully it is not a major issue, like a head gasket?

E320 1994

My Car is a 1994 E320. I'm not sure if it was steam or smoke but it continued for over 15 minutes after I turned off the car. However I didn't smell the oil burning but I do have a little leak in the head gasket. I replaced my water pump 8 months ago. It use to run very well until yesterday. I checked my oil and water level. None of them is low. Even the head gasket leak doesn't leak a lot of oil. It's usually one quart low when I change my oil every 2 months or 2000 miles. And it never gave me any clue of burning oil.

You know you can turn the wheel fully to the right and left and get a very good view of the bottom of the engine. Get down and see if you can see anything so you can give us more details.

Did you check your tranny fluid. Maybe a tranny hose is leaking.
