Hello everyone. First post but I've been reading for about 6 months now -- what a really great site!
Thanks to your posts I've finally got my 1990 300E (138K miles) running smooth again. I had no idea that motor mounts could make such a difference. It took me about 2 hours but I probably could do it in one hour next time I think. The old mounts were about an inch compressed as compared with the new. Now when I crank the car it is just so smooooth (I hadn't even realized before that it jumped when starting) and the rough idle is completely gone. If you've got as many miles as I have and you haven't already changed your mounts, you'll really be surprised the difference they can make. Thanks ya'll!! |
