Severe hesitation problem

Hello folks. My 95 C36 has developed a new malady: When I floor the throttle from cruise the RPM will increase gradually then pause at a certain point for 2 full seconds then zoom up then pause again at a higher RPM for about 2 seconds then zoom up again! Weird to say the least. I notice this before 4000 RPM.

I have already changed the wiring harness before, installed a new MAS 2 months ago, new plugs, 2 new coil packs. I checked the battery and alternator voltages and they seem ok, 13.92VDC even revved up.

I did a search of course but found none describe a condition similar to my cars' peculiar condition. My car does not have ASR.

Any ideas gentlemen? The sole MB dealer here is not really that competent in diagnosing issues like this and I dont want to bring the car there until I have an idea of what to look for.
