Found AC problem ! Now how to ...
I posted a thread, that my fan/blower/ac was not working ! I happen to be in the area where my mechanic is located, i asked him if he could check the current to the blower, he did he said its good....so i went thinking wtf was wrong ? soo i decided before taking out every singlewire and finding it, i would replace the climate control unit. I open it up, aqnd its fried woo hoo so i got a new one- now its working!
Alright now i need to add freon to my car, how do i short circuit the compressor so it can stay on while i add freon ? I was adding some earlier it would go on and then turn off, on and then off... thanks ! |

If you have enough refrigerant to cycle the clutch as it seems to be doing, you should not defeat it as you could inadvertently overcharge the system.
Best if you get a set of gauges so that you can monitor the high and low side pressures and charge through the gauge. Also as noted, run the air full blast with the windows open. This will cause the refrigerant to circulate at its highest rate including drawing new refrigerant from the low-side service port. |

If not there are two directions you can go with your repairs. The cheap way would be to get a can of leak stop and put that into the system and see if your able to get it to hold a charge. The other way would be to see if there are any leaks in the system and to replace the reciever drier and to have the system flushed vacuumed and filled. If you have air in your system from it being open the second way is the only way your A/C is going to perform well. If the system was working before there may be a problem with the pressure switch for the compressor. Someone suggested to check the pressure of the system with some guages which would be a great idea. |
