Question '98 C280 Spark Plug Questions

Concerning a '98 C280 with V6:

First, let me apologize if I missed anything in the archives on this. I have looked through them and there appears to be LOTS of opinions on what kind is correct, and many misreferences to other engines and the like. I know asking this question is almost like asking an oil question!

First: What is the correct Bosch OEM number for the 12 plugs this engine needs?

Second: I checked at FastLane for the plugs and they show the "multi-tipped" platinum models. I had read that I should NOT use mult-tipped OR platinum. Are they hosed on this fact?

Edited Later: I went back and discovered that FastLane shows two different pictures. The first one shows the multi-tip, and the second one shows the standard "one tip" plug for the same part number! Just an oversite, I guess.

Third: How many lbs. do I torque the plugs at if they are washered plugs?

Fourth: What is the correct gap for these particular plugs?

Ok, that's way too many questions at once, but forgive me. I'm one of those darn MB rookies!

Thanks in advance, guys!

Curt

Don't have all the answers on part numbers off the top of my head, but the original plug is a single tip plug (use only that) and the gap should be 1.0 mm.

All your questions answered (well at least some) (caution big downloads):

http://www.bosch.com.au/content/language1/downloads/SparkPlug05_06Catcover.pdf

http://www.bosch.com.au/content/language1/downloads/sparkplugs_passenger_(2).pdf

Note that Bosch don't seem to recommend much for Mercedes other than OEM (and they should know).

Some friendly advice, either get an owners manual for this car or read the one you have. All of the answers to your questions are in the Technical Data section. If you need one I have a spare 1998 W202 owners manual. Send me a PM.
Also, read this thread, especially post #9, 99 C280 spark plugs
(BTW, I use the BERU plugs in mine)

Good Luck, Dan

This plug is resistive. You need a non-resistive plug. Again, read this thread for more info. Only use a plug specified by MB. The fr8dpp33 is not. 99 C280 spark plugs
