107 Bumper Straightening?
I've been taking apart the bumper assembly to restore the top stainless part and to give it a general cleaning (and behind it). While I was in there, I thought about this tiny dent in the bumper itself, and getting it straightened out. It is probably about 1"x1"x2", and "in" about 1/16"-1/8" of an inch. The only reason it's visible at all is because it goes into the "groove" of the rubber strip and looks a little dented from above. Ordinarily, I'd say that this could be easily done in 10 minutes by a body shop with a hydraulic press. A complication is, that this is an aluminum piece, not a heavy stamping of steel. I read a little about this on the Internet via Google, the consensus seems to be that if the dent can be removed without heat and without tearing (pretty unlikely here) it can be done. Has anyone straightened out a bumper using this type of technology (not unique to 107's?)
