Aux Fan Polarity

I'll make it short...

Several months back I replaced the aux fan assembly on my 1997 E320 (211,000 miles). Cool weather...

Recently wife complains, no cool AC in traffic or when stopped.

On vacation, in traffic, engine heats to 120, AC dies. Drive 3 blocks and the engine is back to 90 and AC works.

I reason no air is passing the radiator/condensor...vow to clean them when I get home. At the hotel, I check my aux fans....they blow on command....seems like the wrong way! (!)

Go to the Laptop, search and find a post by Steve Brotherton from 2001, seems some fans get sent through with polarity reversed.

Went back to car and forced the connector on backwards....problem solved!

Thanks again to Mercedesshop and Steve!
