190e 2.3 cruise control spring

recently done valve job on engine, the spring from cruise control mechanism to linkage came loose on both ends. spring has one end round the other c shaped not sure where and what it connects to, any input would be appreciated.

Same thing happened to me. The other end connects all the way to the throttlr linkage.

where does it connect on the cruise control part, it has 2 threaded holes where nothing goes would that b the place
