I've heard of people stealing hood ornaments..but

I've never heard of people breaking/stealing anteanna tops (while retracted). I went to school today (first day at Youngstown State) and my lazy self scheduled all my classes to start after 11 am. The main parking deck (7000 cars or so) was completely full..i scoured it from top to bottom. I looked at the clock and saw that I only had ten minutes to park and get to my class. So I went up in another area of the university that I thought I would be able to park...well..not a spot available. So I parked infront of this residence hall...several other cars were there parked too. I came back from classes (ended at 2) and found my anteanna pulled up and the top broken off. Now I do not remember if it was broken when I parked there or not. The parking deck did have some rather large dips and speed bumps that I took with a little too much speed...

I've heard of stolen hood ornaments but anteanna masts?? I mean the mast is still there but it doesnt go up/down all the way anymore

its not a huge deal as i I do not listen to the radio. If my hoodstar was stolen I would be very angered. How ever would I snipe things?!?

Kris

The antenna on the 300E is busted so we are going to use one of those hidden ones for a hot rod and just fill in the hole plus it is cheeper than the new MB mast (we have to repaint anyway so why not)

The unfortunate reality of having a nice car people get jealous. I work in an upscale office tower here in Atlanta where there are Maserati's and Ferrari's parked in the same parking deck. People still have tried to steal the hood star off of my cars with much more expensive cars sitting nearby. Ironically our cars cost less than some of the domestic and japanese junk that the jealous vandals drive.

People are generally lazy especially the type of people who vandalize cars. Not many people want to drive to the top level of the parking deck unless there are no spaces left on the lower levels. The same is true for the lower levels of the deck. Park as far away from other cars as you can as cars generally cary people and some of those people are potential vandals. When you park near an entrance or door your asking for someone to tamper with your car because they have a quick getaway after they vandalize your car.
