1982 380 SEL Body vs. 420, 500, 560 SEL
Are the bodies of the 1982 380 SEL the same as the 1982 420, 500, 560 SEL?
According to the Yakima website, they have the 1982 380 SEL listed separately from the other vehicles for rack information. I thought all of the 126 models were basically the same. Can anyone explain the differences?

I would believe all W126 bodies are the same and the only difference would be the interior designs, options engines, exterior body cladding and of course SE or SEL lengths. Someone correct me if I am wrong

the 380 is a 1st gen W126 so the drive-train tunnel is different than that of a 2nd gen W126. The differentials from a 1st gen W126 won't bolt up to a 2nd gen W126. However, the body dimensions and sheet metal are same.

Yakima Rack
Thanks guys. I thought they were all pretty much the same with regards to their bodies.
My concern arose when I went on the Yakima Rack website: www.yakima.com When I entered the vehicle information it had the 1982 380 SEL separate from the rest of the SELs. Additionally, it didn't have the Q Rack System listed for the 380. I've emailed Yakima to check if the Q Racks will fit the 380. But, since I assumed that all of the SEL bodies were similar, I wanted to use the Q rack from my wife's minivan with the appropriate clips. If anyone knows the details regarding the Yakima Q Racks for MB, I'd appreciate some informaiton. Brad.
