Wierd huh? The engine will not go past 5000 RPM. This creates a problem under full throttle as the car will not upshift unless I lift off the throttle. Feels like there is a rev limiter engaged. Otherwise the engine runs perfectly. Anyone know what this could be?

Thanks

It sounds like a fuel delivery problem to me. You should check the pump and the filter.
