83 380 SEL Tach Amp Cable
Cable has been coiled up and crammed up against the fender well and is not connected to the flywheel sender. Cable end is broaken off at were the cable attachment nut meets the tapered PO or past mech.?
?How is this part removed from the engine? I can't even see the engine end of the broaken cable. There is nothing on my CD manual, this and other sites, concerning this part and replacement. I assume I can drop the AC compressor without removing hoses. Advice is welcome. |

The problem is I have a broken part, a good part in a bone yard and wish to swap them but cannot find a way to remove the cable nut at the flywheel. I can see it on the bone yard car but the 380 SEL has a bit too many gizmos in the way.

Tach amp cable?
Your post referrs to an 83 380sel;On your car the Tach (TD) signal originates at the ignition module. There is a single post connector (c-116) on the side of the diagnostic connector, it should have two green wires on it.
The cable I think you're referring to (4mm grey insulation ) is the crank pickup for the diagnostic connector. The engine does not know that part exists If your tach is in/op check fuse 12. Good luck Mike |
