$600 for a fan clutch, are you kidding me?
How in the world is that possible? I just replaced the radiator with a new Behr unit because I thought it was the center of my cooling issues. Got a deal at $350, but the stud for the transmission line snapped off when I put the nut back on, by hand. So much for quality, but I have to say it was one of the easiest jobs I've done.
Still have cooling issues. The car will run at just over 80 degrees until I have to go up an incline, then it will go to 100-105 and stay there. I tried a new thermostat because it was the cheapest first fix. Took it by the mechanic because the 'check engine' light came on. That was caused by a leaky transmission thing. Something about shifting when cold. Anyway, he suggested the fan clutch.
I thought it would be about $150, but I see it's closer to $600. It muse be gold plated for that price.
