Unhappy Mistress Heather's in Trouble Gas Tank Door

I had a Mercedes Benz Meltdown Moment at the gas station today. Just got the car out of the shop yesterday, today I went to get gas (I never let it get below 1/4 of a tank ) and the tank door won't release. All the door locks release but I noticed the rear passenger door lock which is on the same side as the gas tank releases REALLLLY SLOW. Is there a manual release somewhere in the trunk I can use? I've heard of separation anxiety in children but separation anxiety between a car and its mechanic?

there should be a little pull rod in the truck for the fuel tank door lock. typically one has to remove the mouldings to get to it. once you remove those things it could be fairly easy to spot. just pull it towards you to unlock.

best of luck

Since you just got the car back from a shop, I would check the engine compartment for any vacuum hoses that may have been inadvertantly disconnected. (or check the areas that work was done at, if not the engine area)

The right rear door and trunk flap are on the same branch of the vacuum system. Could be a Y connector in the system, but more than likely the trunk flap or RR door flap actuator are bad. What was it in the shop for?
Yes you will feel either a metal rod or plastic knob you pull back (in the same direction that the rod itself travels) which is just mechanically unlocking the flap. Not hard.

Thanks for responding guys, I had the antenna mast replaced but noticed that the door locks were slow in responding when I first purchased the car and knew it was a only a matter of time......I'll shall "Go Forth and Release" (no pun intended) tomorrow, let you know what happens...your the best.

Heather or Siduri or whoever you really are , this should also be shown in the owners manual, may make it a bit clearer what you're looking for.
