loose front end

Greetings everyone long time no issues untill now
I have a question . Will the rubber strut mounts cause the front end to feel loose. the car is a 1999SL 500 75,000 on the clock all original suspension but the steering dampener that is fairly new, it acts like it has a loose wheel when changing lanes, everything looks and feel tight but the upper struts mounts show cracks can that be it?
Thanks in advance

There are a number of rubber bushings that can contribute to loose feel, and the strut bushings are no exception.

Actually, check the tread wear pattern on the front tires. Worn strut bushings manifest themselves as excessive inner/outer tread wear or "scalloping"...

Alot of the times worn sway bar bushings will give the feeling of a loose front end. Very cheap to replace.
